Task Group No. 362 – Multi-lesion Stereotactic Radiosurgery (TG362)

Role: Member

Number of Positions: 1-3

Task Group No. 362 – Multi-lesion Stereotactic Radiosurgery is seeking new members with experience in stereotactic radiosurgery. Individuals with experience treating multiple lesions within a single course of treatment are of particular interest. The group is tasked with providing recommendations on tracking the treatment of prior lesions, target naming in accordance to TG263 recommendations, proper planning techniques, normal tissue constraints, and quality assurance of multi-lesion SRS. Members of underrepresented groups and early career physicists are encouraged to apply. TG362 seeks to be a diverse group with representation across different backgrounds, career stages, and clinical experience.

Working Group on Keyword Taxonomy (WGKWT)

Role: VEPP

Number of Positions: 1-2

The newly formed Working Group on Keyword Taxonomy (WGKWT) is recruiting 1-2 VEPP members to contribute to our efforts in improving content organization and search across AAPM and our journals. The newly formed Working Group on Keyword Taxonomy (WGKWT) is recruiting 1-2 members to contribute to our efforts in improving content organization and search across AAPM and our journals. Looking for a members for the Topics Coordination Dashboard Working Group to help shape, commission and roll out the dashboard. The member should not have been involved previously in any AAPM organizational bodies (TG, WG, committees, etc.) but have an interest in getting into volunteering and governance.

Insurance Subcommittee (INSUSC)

Role: Member

Number of Positions: 2-3

The group charge is: 1. Develop and maintain AAPM member access to insurance products and services pertaining to the professional practice of medical physics. 2. Provide education to members on the role of insurance products and services in the professional practice of medical physics. Members are expected to respond to emails, including polls for calls and to try to attend those calls.

Work Group on Multi-Institutional Journal Clubs for Residency Programs (WGJCRP)

Role: VEPP

Number of Positions: 1-4

WGJCRP is seeking four new members who are residents in training with specialization in the diagnostic (2 openings) and therapy fields (2 openings).We are looking for applicants from both large and smaller residency training programs.The time commitment includes meeting at the annual AAPM conference, periodic phone calls, and small group work.

WGJCRP is seeking new members with specialization in the diagnostic and therapy fields. Those with nuclear medicine expertise are of particular interest and encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant will have current or experience in the training of medical physics residents or fellows and experience with journal clubs. The time commitment includes meeting at the annual AAPM conference, periodic phone calls, and small group work.

Online Instruments (or Virtual) Museum Working Group (OIMWG)

Role: Member

Number of Positions: 1-5

The working group on the Online Instruments (or Virtual) museum is recruiting members that can assist in maintaining and expanding the AAPM virtual museum. The working group members work closely with the history committee and the museum curator to update the galleries of the museum with new content.

Working Group on IEC Coordination (WGIEC)

Role: Member

Number of Positions: 2-4

The Working Group on IEC Coordination is recruiting members who have strong experience in Artificial Intelligence applications for medical equipment an interest in the regulatory framework for AI software deployed on medical equipment. There is ongoing work in a organizations related to the IEC to develop standards on a variety of topics related to AI software on medical devices. Members are needed to participate in the standards and guidance development process in the AAMI AI Working Group to ensure that the expertise of medical physicists are incorporated into standards and guidance on topics.

Research Committee (RSRCH)

Role: Member

Number of Positions: 2

The Research Committee is responsible for supporting research by AAPM members and helping to lead research initiatives of the AAPM under the direction of Science Council. It also makes recommendations on research policy to Science Council, acts as a clearinghouse for research-related inquiries made by members and outside groups, and provides direction to the committees overseen by Science Council as appropriate. The committee typically meets in person during the annual Research Committee retreat, and via teleconferences throughout the year. The committee is seeking two AAPM members with full membership and a demonstrated interest and experience in research. Interested parties should submit their curriculum vitae and a statement of interest for consideration via the Committee Classifieds platform by February 24, 2021.
