Implementation and Practice of Image-guided Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

Implementation and Practice of Image-guided Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy
SBRT has become a standard-of-care tool in the armamentarium of Radiation Oncology and simultaneous a guideline-recommended treatment option for a growing number of indications. The rapid advanced in radiotherapy technology have made an appropriate knowledge the understanding of SBRT in all its interdisciplinary aspects the most crucial step for its high-quality implementation.
This ESTRO teaching course aims to address this change of the Radiotherapy landscape. It aims to provide
- a comprehensive learning experience about the basis and implementation of image-guided stereotactic body radiotherapy and cranial stereotactic radiosurgery.
- an understanding the physical and technical requirements and discuss ways to establish a multi-professional clinical stereotactic programme.
A blended learning concept with combination of state-of-the-art pre-recorded lectures and livestreamed classes and practical online workshops will address the needs and interests of clinicians, physicists, and radiation therapists, asking.
- “How to start a SBRT program” for individuals with no or limited experience in SBRT.
- “How to validate my recently established SBRT program” for individuals who have started their SBRT program and aim to validate their SBRT procedures.
Target Group
Today and especially in the future, all professionals in the field of radiation oncology will require an understanding of SBRT and SRS. This ESTRO course addressed all radiation oncologists, physicists and radiation therapists (RTTs) who:
- aim to complement their knowledge and competencies in Radiation Oncology with the technological, physics, radiobiological and clinical basics of SBRT and SRS.
- are currently at the planning stage of establishing a clinical stereotactic programme.
- have just started stereotactic practice and aim for benchmark their practice. The importance of integrating all professionals into a team will be highlighted.
