Nuevos cursos de la EFOMP para el MP Expert

Dear colleagues,

It is a pleasure for me to start the Chairing of EFOMP’s European School for Medical Physics Expert (ESMPE), a strategic experience enhancing education and training programs for Medical Physics in Europe.

ESMPE, with two other important pillars (the European Congress of Medical Physics and Physica Medica, The European Journal of Medical Physics) will be our starting point to create the European Community of Medical Physics involved in the application of Physics in Medicine.

The main topics will be related to ionising and non-ionising radiation applied in medicine (Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, MRI) as well as specific topics such as Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Informatics.

You are already aware that, ESMPE organizes medical physics education and training events specifically targeted by Medical Physicists who are already Medical Physics Experts or would like to achieve Medical Physics Expert (MPE) status. These events are open to all European Medical Physicists and are accredited by an independent body (the European Board of Accreditation for Medical Physics) to ensure that they are at the required educational level, i.e., Level 8 of the European Qualifications Framework.

Thanks to a limited number of participants the interaction between lecturers and attendees is assured, guaranteeing the high quality of the course.

Moreover, a distinctive tract of the school is to provide subsidized fees for a certain number of participants coming from low income European countries.

The prominent Medical Physicists within the ESMPE Board ensure the high quality of programs and the future evolution of education and training in Europe. The Board is open to evaluate all the proposals coming from the EFOMP National Member Organisations and individual members of the European Community of Medical Physics.

On line Registration is open for the first edition of the ESMPE school in 2019.
